After Pontarlier, Fougerolles was the second major center for Absinthe during the Belle Epoque. Verte de Fougerolles is an excellent unfiltered absinthe blended with carefully selected herbs including both grande and petite wormwood, as well as anise, fennel and hyssop. It is made with a grape-based alcohol, and with no added sugar. Verte de Fougerolles is bottled at 72% abv (144 proof), in order to retain its natural color and to bring out all the aromas. The 'louche' is perfect; the final taste is both complex and intense.
