Tales of the Cocktail Every year America & the world's top Mixologists gather in New Orleans to attend the Tales of the Cocktail convention and other cocktail-related events. Absinthe featured heavily this year, which is unsurprising as New Orleans is absinthe's historical US home, and there were many tastings both at the newly-opened American Absinthe Museum and the Wormwood Society's First Annual Absinthe Soirée. Encompassing some of America's foremost absinthe enthusiasts the Wormwood Society hosted a casual afternoon of comparative absinthe tasting and canapes at Muriels Restaurant on Jackson Square. Many brands were present including Pernod Absinthe, La Fée Parisienne, Kubler, Mansinth and Mata-Hari. The event attracted some of the most influential people in the absinthe industry including the brand owner of Mata-hari, two brand ambassadors from La Fée Absinthe and many honoured guests from the Wormwood Society. Many hours were spent discussing the finer points of the wonderful brands on offer and a fantastic time was enjoyed by all.
