La Fée Absinthe was founded in 2000 when brand owner George Rowley teamed up with Marie-Claude Delahaye, founder and curator of the Musée de l'Absinthe, to create the first commercially distilled traditional French absinthe since the 1915 ban. Following these historic events La Fée gained critical acclaim and was soon a choice tipple of many famous drinkers such as Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Marylin Manson and Eminem.
In 2004 La Fée launched La Fée Absinth Bohemian, a modern and less anise driven variety: Traditional to Czech recipes, but with modern distillation quality.
In 2006 La Fée introduced the XS range: With XS Suisse and XS Francáise - produced in Couvet, Val de Travers, Switzerland and Pontarlier, France, respectively: The birthplaces of both Swiss and French absinthe production. These ‘amers’ are grape wine base and distilled to the highest quality - the XS range offers you the ultimate in provenance and authenticity.
La Fée is taking absinthe in an entirely new direction with the launch of NV, a modern, mixable absinthe. NV is lower in strength at 38% abv, allowing for mixability - you can even drink it on the rocks, and it will louche too. But with this flexibility no sacrifice is made to quality, NV is distilled with all the core traditional ingredients, including a full measure of wormwood.
