 Dr Ordinaire is generally accredited with the creation of absinthe, which is a highly disputed subject, although even if it was not Dr Ordinaire who created it, he was certainly responsible for absinthe’s first large step from local tonic to global phenomenon.

By account, Dr Ordinaire was a tall, eccentric man who was often seen riding through the Val de Travers on his small Corsican horse known as Rocket.
